Micro & Nano plastics
Everything about water

A 2024 study found 240,000 plastic particles per bottle, with roughly 90% of them nanoplastics. (PNAS/Columbia-Rutgers)

Also in 2024, researchers found microplastics in 100% of humans. Particulate matter was found in the liver, brain, and other organs.

That means exposure is not occasional — it’s continuous.

Particle size determines the Risks

  • Particles >150 µm → can't pass through the gut barrier and leave the body
  • Particles <20 µmcan cross the gut barrier, ending up in human organs

Consequences of this exposure have not yet been widely confirmed, but both the tendencies and risks are clear.
Tastes different, but has even more nano plastic particles
Glass bottles aren't better

According to a 2024 study, the highest average microplastic concentration was found in industrial glass bottles.

"The drinks in glass bottles are often 5 to 50 times higher than in plastic bottles or cans."

The "metal" caps shed nano-plastics at the factory, during transportation, and then release 100'000 more when you open the bottle.
